OU Insider is for college sports fans, and particularly Sooner fans world wide. The site was started in 1999 and quickly mushroomed into one of the largest team sites anywhere in sports.

The site is home to over 40,000 registered Sooner fans and many more who drop in as guests daily. Monthly page views range from 13 - 20 million - higher during the football season.

The site operates with a paid and volunteer staff of over a dozen writers, editors and monitors deicated to the ethics of journalism and honest reporting. Joe Wallace serves as editor.

Our goal is to provide the most accurate, comprehensive coverage of athletic teams at the University of Oklahoma available anywhere from any source. We are proud to say that in over seven years, we have not had to retract one story.

Generally, the site functions much like an electronic newspaper and is divided into three sections:

1. News - Reports and stories are written by our staff of reporters, operating under the direction James Hale - our lead reporter, and posted on the front page, and 'Page Two.'

Joe Wallace serves as editor as is soley responsible for what stories appear in what position, over what period of time. Photo journalists also serve under his direction.

2. Features - The site contains many drop down and archived information that will multiply under the new site design. Generally, the feature content is written by our staff.

3. Forums - The 'forums' or message boards operate as a giant letter to the editor where fans - and sometimes opponents, discuss all aspects of their favorite sports.

Unlike most internet sites however, OU Insider does not tolerate obscenity, vulgaritues, unfounded rumors or accusations against any person, regardless of team affiliation.

It is not our intention or purpose to follow student athletes and/or coaches around and report on every detail of their private lives.

The forums are monitored 24 hours a day and violators are logged and or banned from future use.

In order to get maximum use of the site, the first thing a newcomer should do is Register.
Registration is quick and easy; you simply specify a unique username; choose a password, and then submit a valid e-Mail address. It usually takes less than 30 seconds.

Once you register, you Log On with the user name and password that you chose and you're ready to go. Most pages have a Log On box in the upper right corner. Obce you are logged on, you should have full access to all but the 'member' areas, you can post and reply to forum topics, and you can set many of the features on the site to fit your preferences.

Although most of OU Insider is free, we naturally must pay our bills, and do so with subscriptions. For less than 30c a day,OU Insider 'members,' whose subscriptions keep us streaming world wide 24/7, get access to special reports, recruiting information, as well as insight and interviews on all Sooner teams.

Members also get priority reservations to OU Insider Bowl Trips and events.

We hope you enjoy the site,

Brian & Ann Bishop - Publishers
